Ana Sofía Montañez to compete in President’s Cup 2026

Taekwondo athlete Ana Sofía Montañez is set to represent Mexico and the Universidad Michoacana de San Nicolás de Hidalgo at the President’s Cup in Lima, Peru, from August 26 to 28, 2026.

Montañez, a 20-year-old nutrition student competing in the under 53-kilogram combat category, stated she feels motivated and focused following her experience in last year’s competition. She noted that her preparation has included intensive training sessions, sometimes two to three times a day, as well as psychological preparation and injury prevention.
