Ana Viktorija Puljiz wins gold in judo at Mediterranean Games
Croatian judoka Ana Viktorija Puljiz won the gold medal in the under 57 kg category at the Mediterranean Games in Taranto. Puljiz secured her victory in the final against Serbia’s Marica Perišić. Her path to the gold included wins against Andela Samardžić of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Flaka Loxhe of Kosovo.
This achievement marks Puljiz’s fourth gold medal for Croatia at these games and her 26th total medal. In the same tournament, Croatian judokas Dani Klačar (66 kg) and Robert Klačar (73 kg) competed but did not secure medals. Dani Klačar reached the bronze medal match but lost to France’s Alexis Renaud, while Robert Klačar was eliminated following losses to Morocco’s Hassana Boukalia and Kosovo’s Akila Gjakova.
