Anac suspends Total Linhas Aéreas operations, affecting Correios cargo services
The National Civil Aviation Agency (Anac) has issued a provisional suspension of all operations for Total Linhas Aéreas, an airline that provides cargo transport services for the Brazilian postal service, Correios.
The suspension, which is effective indefinitely, follows the identification of critical and high-level safety risks and non-conformities. Anac cited issues regarding continued airworthiness, operational safety systems and procedures, and civil aviation security against unlawful interference. The regulator requires the airline to demonstrate the effectiveness of its Safety Management System (SGSO) and its Continued Supervision and Analysis System (SASC) to ensure an acceptable level of safety.
In response to the suspension, Correios has activated a contingency plan to maintain its air cargo delivery services. This includes the redistribution of cargo volumes among other contracted logistics operators to ensure service continuity.
