Anacom to allocate 172 million euros for full 5G coverage in Portugal

The Portuguese National Communications Authority (Anacom) is proceeding with an allocation of 172 million euros to achieve 100% 5G coverage across the national territory. Bernardo Correia, the Secretary of State for Digitalization, announced that while 98% of the population is currently covered by 5G, this funding aims to bridge the remaining 2% gap.

Additionally, Secretary of State for Simplification Paulo Magro da Luz announced plans to create a Single Window for Companies, expected to be available in the first half of next year. The initiative seeks to align Portuguese business services with global models such as those in Singapore and Dubai. A massive training campaign in artificial intelligence for the public sector is also expected to be announced this month.
