Anadolu Agency concludes 30th war correspondent training in Ankara
The 30th edition of the War Correspondent training program concluded in Ankara, Turkey, with 25 participants receiving certificates. The program was organized by Anadolu Agency in partnership with the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) and the Turkish Police Academy.
The graduates included nine journalists from Anadolu Agency and 16 from various Asian nations, including Laos, Malaysia, Vietnam, Cambodia, the Philippines, Indonesia, and Papua New Guinea. The intensive two-week training covered theoretical and practical components such as the laws of war, personal safety, advanced leadership techniques, and water survival.
Officials emphasized the importance of journalist safety in conflict zones. Fatih İnal, Vice President of the Turkish Police Academy, noted that the program shares the academy's extensive field experience to help journalists navigate difficult environments. Ogur Taneli of TİKA stated that the training aligns with Turkey’s ‘New Asia Strategy,’ aimed at expanding international cooperation and presence in the region.
