Anadolu Agency hosts 2nd annual news awards in Turkey

Anadolu Agency (AA) held its second annual news awards ceremony at the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM). The event was attended by high-ranking officials, including TBMM Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş and Interior Minister Mustafa Çiftçi.

During the ceremony, AA Chairman and General Manager Serdar Karagöz addressed the challenges posed by artificial intelligence, noting that AI-generated content and deepfakes have made distinguishing truth from falsehood more difficult for journalists. Karagöz emphasized that media leadership and the public share a responsibility to provide journalists with the necessary conditions to pursue the truth.

Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş highlighted the importance of journalistic integrity and sacrifice, specifically praising the efforts of TRT and AA in reporting on the humanitarian situation in Gaza.
