Turkish universities begin 2026-2027 academic year activities

Turkish universities have commenced activities for the 2026-2027 academic year, focusing on student orientation and registration processes.

Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMÜ) held the MKG Uyum Fest'26 at the Mustafa Kemal Güneşdoğdu Campus to welcome new students. The event provided information on academic units, campus life, and social opportunities. Local institutions, including the Samsun Provincial Police Department and Çarşamba Municipality, participated with information booths. Additionally, OMÜ Havza Vocational School organized an orientation program to help first-year students adapt to campus life and academic procedures.

Anadolu University has opened the registration renewal period for its Open Education Faculty (AÖF) for the autumn semester. The process, which began on October 5, 2026, and runs until October 19, 2026, requires students to manually select their courses via the Student Information System. This marks a change from previous years, as the faculty will no longer perform automatic course assignments. Students must complete both course selection and fee payments within the specified timeframe to finalize their enrollment.
