Anadolu University holds orientation for social work field applications
Anadolu University's Faculty of Health Sciences held an orientation meeting for the 2026-2027 Social Work Application I-II courses. The event, themed ‘From Theory to Practice, Construction of Professional Identity’, was attended by faculty leadership, including Dean Prof. Dr. Aliye Mavili and Vice Dean Prof. Dr. Semra Saruç.
Prof. Dr. Aliye Mavili emphasized that field application is essential for social work education, stating, ‘Application is our lifeblood.’ The program aims to help 61 students develop their professional identities by interacting directly with disadvantaged and needy groups, while gaining awareness of professional responsibilities and potential risks.
The curriculum details were presented by Research Assistant Gizem Özkan. In the fall semester, students will engage in micro-level, individual-focused work within institutions, requiring them to prepare group work plans, institutional introductions, and problem area reports. The spring semester will shift focus toward meso and macro-level applications through various projects and group studies.
