Anadolu University to host addiction awareness festival

Anadolu University's Addiction Prevention Studies Unit will host an Addiction Awareness Week on October 21-22, 2026. The two-day campus event aims to increase awareness regarding addiction, promote healthy lifestyle habits, and encourage social participation among students.

The program includes sports competitions such as chess, table tennis, dart, floor curling, and 3x3 basketball. Artistic workshops in collaboration with Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality ESMEK will offer activities like ebru, wood keychain painting, stone painting, mandala, and bracelet making. Additionally, the Yeşilay Youth Commission will host bag painting and vision board workshops.

Educational components feature a seminar titled ‘Who is in Control? Addictions, Risks, and Choices’ by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tuğba Görgülü, and a ‘BOWL CHALLENGE: Design Your Healthy Choice’ workshop led by Lecturer Dr. Mutlu Doğan. The event also includes safety simulations, such as virtual reality demonstrations of driving under the influence and seatbelt safety simulations.
