Anael Tena presents Albariza Tierra rota exhibition in Jerez

Madrid-based artist Anael Tena is presenting her exhibition ‘Albariza. Tierra rota’ at Diario de Jerez, running from September 3 to October 2, 2026. The collection explores the edaphology of the Jerez countryside through a creative lens.

The works focus on albariza, a white, calcareous soil characteristic of the region. While appearing dry and poor, the soil is noted for its extraordinary ability to collect and store rainwater deep underground, providing essential hydration for grapevine roots during the hot summer months.
