ANAFRE seeks nine million euros for Azores parishes in 2027 budget
The Azores delegation of the National Association of Parishes (ANAFRE) is advocating for the maintenance of nine million euros in funding for regional parishes for the years 2027 and 2028. During a meeting in Ponta Delgada regarding the 2027 Budget, regional coordinator Manuel António Soares emphasized the need for consistent financial support to complete projects that have faced delays due to the prioritization of the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR) in 2026.
Additionally, ANAFRE is calling for an increase in the ‘eco-freguesias’ program budget. The association requested that the allocation return to one million euros in 2027, noting that the program's funding was previously reduced by 50% to 500,000 euros in 2026. The regional budget discussion is scheduled for November in Horta, Faial.
