Anah reduces MaPrimeRénov' energy renovation budget by 351 million euros
The Agence nationale de l'habitat (Anah) has confirmed a 351 million euro reduction in the 2026 budget for the MaPrimeRénov' energy renovation program. This decision follows a credit freeze implemented by the French government in June to prevent public deficit increases.
The agency's total budget for distributing subsidies has been lowered from an initial 4.38 billion euros to 4.01 billion euros. The cuts specifically impact the ‘parcours accompagné’ (comprehensive home renovations) by 255 million euros and co-ownership renovation subsidies by 50 million euros. Consequently, the number of homes receiving full renovations in 2026 is expected to decrease by 14,241 units.
Additionally, the budget for ‘parcours par geste’ (isolated single-action works) will drop by 46 million euros, resulting in 40,000 fewer subsidy applications. This reduction is partly due to a government decision to refocus single-action subsidies primarily on heat pump installations.
