Anahat Singh exits Silicon Valley Open in semifinals

Indian squash player Anahat Singh was eliminated from the Silicon Valley Open after a semifinal loss to Malaysia’s Sivasangari Subramaniam. Despite winning the opening game 11-5, the 18-year-old from Delhi lost the subsequent three games 5-11, 11-6, 11-4, and 11-7.

Singh’s tournament run was highlighted by a major upset over top seed and eight-time world champion Nour El Sherbini. She also secured a comeback victory against Egypt’s Salma Hany in the quarterfinals to reach her first Professional Squash Association (PSA) Gold-level semifinal.

Subramaniam, ranked World No. 4, maintained her advantage in the head-to-head matchup against Singh, having previously defeated her in the 2026 Asian Games final.
