Anaheim water pressure outage disrupts Disneyland restrooms and restaurants

On July 28, a failure in Anaheim’s groundwater‑well pumps caused a citywide drop in water pressure around 6 p.m. The city switched to an alternate supply from the Colorado River, restoring pressure by about 8 p.m. The outage affected numerous locations, including the Disneyland Resort, where low pressure forced the temporary closure of all restrooms and several restaurants for roughly two hours. Guests were redirected and faced longer lines at the few facilities that remained open.

Disneyland officials clarified that the problem was caused by the city’s water system, not the park, and noted that fire hydrants, water quality and public health were not compromised. City crews continued investigating the cause, with four of the original wells remaining offline.

The incident also impacted other Anaheim venues such as Angel Stadium and local businesses, highlighting the broader reliance on municipal water infrastructure.
