Anakapalli district to become industrial hub, says Andhra CM Naidu
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu announced plans for the Anakapalli district to undergo rapid industrial development, comparing its projected growth to the Ranga Reddy district in Telangana. The initiative aims to transform North Andhra into a major economic hub to reduce regional migration and attract national talent.
Key infrastructure and industrial developments include the expansion of national highways, four-lane railway connectivity, and the completion of the Mulapeta Port to link the eastern coast with central India. Visakhapatnam is expected to receive submarine cable connectivity with Asia, supporting its status as a fast-growing city. Major companies such as TCS and Cognizant are already establishing operations in Visakhapatnam.
Additional industrial projects mentioned include an ArcelorMittal Steel City, a green hydrogen project, and upcoming ventures in the semiconductor, pharmaceutical, aluminium, and rare earth mineral sectors.
