Turan Tosun wins Beautiful Adhan Recitation competition in Çanakkale

Turan Tosun from Denizli won first place in the Turkey Final of the ‘Beautiful Adhan Recitation Competition’ (Ezanı Güzel Okuma Yarışması), held in Çanakkale as part of the 2026 Mosques and Religious Officials Week.

The competition, organized by the Presidency of Religious Affairs (Diyanet İşleri Başkanlığı), took place at the 18 Mart Hatime Ana Ulu Mosque. Following Tosun, Halil Bilge Tan from Gaziantep secured second place, and Cihan Emre Akbulut from Erzurum took third.

Deputy Minister of Interior Bülent Turan attended the event and spoke about the cultural significance of the call to prayer. He described the adhan as more than a prayer invitation, calling it a ‘declaration of identity’ and a symbol of presence and readiness.
