Çanakkale Municipality implements new pedestrian access regulations
Çanakkale Municipality has launched a new initiative in the city center to improve pedestrian access and organize shared public spaces. The project aims to clear sidewalks of obstacles such as tables, chairs, cabinets, and platforms used by local businesses.
As part of this regulation, previously granted occupation permits for businesses have been canceled. The implementation began in the Kemalpaşa neighborhood, where municipal teams and local tradesmen representatives inspected the use of public areas. The municipality stated that the goal is to find a balance between maintaining commercial activity and ensuring safe, comfortable movement for pedestrians.
