Georgia labor market reports 9,268 active job vacancies

The Georgian labor market currently features 9,268 active job vacancies. The largest share of these openings is concentrated in the service (23%) and sales (19%) sectors. Logistics (11%) and administration (10%) also represent significant portions of the market. Notably, the technology sector accounts for only 1.3% of open vacancies, which is considered a paradox given the recent popularity of IT education and training programs in the country. This low figure may be attributed to tech companies utilizing private recruiting channels or developers working remotely for foreign firms.

In other developments, the Georgian Ministry of Justice reported that the country has maintained its position in the top tier of the U.S. State Department’s human trafficking report for 11 consecutive years. Georgia is noted as the only country in its region and among EU candidate states to hold this highest rating.

Additionally, the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) Academy Director visited Kutaisi International University (KIU) to engage with students in a joint international master's program focused on intellectual property, innovation, and entrepreneurship.
