Analamanga dominates Madagascar Athletics Championship

The Analamanga region dominated the Madagascar Athletics Championship across all categories and senior levels. Held at the Alarobia stadium, the league finished at the top of the standings with 62 medals, including 27 gold, 21 silver, and 14 bronze.

Individual standout performances included Ny Aina Anna Andrianjafy of the Esaa Analamanga club, who won five gold medals in the 200m, 400m, 400m hurdles, 4x100m, and 4x400m. In the men's senior category, Tojo Mamisoa of Cosfa Analamanga secured three titles in the 200m, 4x100m, and 4x400m.

Despite these successes, Tsiry Manantena Rakotomalala, the national technical director of the Malagasy Athletics Federation, expressed concerns regarding the athletes' readiness for the 2027 Indian Ocean Island Games (JIOI). He noted that "much work remains to be done because the level is still very far from the standard of the Island Games."
