Analogue Solutions releases Roland System 700 replica

British manufacturer Analogue Solutions has introduced the Series 700, a large-format analog modular synthesizer designed to faithfully recreate the circuitry, layout, and physical dimensions of the original Roland System 700 released in 1976.

Based on original schematics, the reproduction maintains the scale of the historic system, which was originally developed to compete with the Moog Modular and ARP 2500. The Series 700 is composed of several specialized blocks, including a main cabinet featuring oscillators, ring modulators, filters, and VCAs, as well as optional components such as a keyboard, an analog step sequencer, and additional VCOs.

The system includes a functional modern addition: a MIDI-to-CV converter to allow synchronization with contemporary equipment. The complete system is priced at £33,000 (excluding taxes and shipping), with production underway and deliveries expected by late 2026.
