Anambra First Lady awarded for public health innovation

Dr. Nonye Soludo, the First Lady of Anambra State, has been named a recipient of the Public Health Innovation Award at the 2026 Africa Future Leadership Conference and Awards. The recognition honors her work through the ‘Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo’ initiative.

The initiative focuses on promoting preventive healthcare, nutrition, physical fitness, and personal hygiene. It specifically targets women, children, and young people through community-based health education and programs such as menstrual hygiene awareness. The goal of the initiative is to encourage healthier habits at both the household and community levels to reduce avoidable illnesses.

The award is scheduled to be presented during a ceremony in Lagos on November 20, 2026. The Africa Future Leadership Conference and Awards recognizes individuals and organizations for their contributions to leadership, innovation, and development across the African continent.
