Anambra Police arrest ex-convict over POS operator robberies

The Anambra State Police Command has arrested 27-year-old Chidera Anthony Eleh, also known as ‘Timaya’, in connection with a series of motorcycle-assisted robberies in Awka. Eleh, an ex-convict, is suspected of targeting Point-of-Sale (POS) operators and other individuals in the state capital.

During the intelligence-led operation, police recovered a motorcycle, an axe, a cutlass, and other items believed to be linked to the crimes. The suspect remains in custody as investigators work to determine the full extent of his involvement and identify potential accomplices.

Anambra State Commissioner of Police, Nnanna Oji Ama, reaffirmed the command’s commitment to protecting lives and property. Authorities have urged business owners, particularly POS operators and commercial motorcyclists, to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to the police.
