Police arrest suspects in separate homicide investigations in Nigeria
Police in Nigeria have arrested suspects in several distinct criminal investigations across different states.
In Anambra State, Chima Ofoeke was arrested for the alleged murder of 23-year-old Mmesoma Umeorini. Following a report from the victim's mother regarding her disappearance on October 16, police and local security outfits apprehended Ofoeke in Uga. The suspect allegedly confessed to killing Umeorini after their relationship ended and led investigators to the location where her remains were recovered in a sack.
In Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory Police Command arrested a tiler, Samuel Net, following the death of hotel staff member Joseph Terdoo. The incident occurred in the Utako District on October 20 during a physical confrontation between the two men. Preliminary investigations suggest a disagreement escalated when Net allegedly pushed Terdoo, causing him to hit his head on a wooden object.
Additionally, in Edo State, police arrested 21-year-old Miracle Samuel for the alleged killing of a woman he met on social media. The suspect claimed the death occurred during a struggle over a knife during an argument.
