Anambra Police arrest man for alleged murder of father

A 20-year-old man, identified as Pascal Ogbogu, has been arrested by the Anambra State Police Command following the alleged murder of his 56-year-old father in Abatete, Idemili North Local Government Area.

According to preliminary police reports, the suspect attacked his father on the evening of August 25 and fled the scene. Responding to a distress report, officers from the Eziowelle Police Division, supported by family members and the Abatete Vigilante, discovered the victim's body with a deep machete wound to the throat.

Ogbogu was apprehended in the early hours of August 26 through coordinated efforts between the police, local vigilantes, and community members. The State Commissioner of Police, CP Nnanna Oji Ama, has transferred the case to the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID) for a comprehensive review and further investigation.
