Anambra political candidates announce legislative goals and election bids

In Anambra State, political candidates have announced their legislative agendas and intentions for upcoming elections. Dr. Paul Ebuka Ileka, representing the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), has presented a legislative blueprint for the Nnewi North State Constituency in the Anambra State House of Assembly. His plan focuses on sustainable public infrastructure and professionalizing the building industry to ensure safety and affordability. Ileka aims to address issues such as non-professional contractors, delays in building approvals, and the use of substandard materials. He also proposed mandatory batch testing for public and multi-storey private projects to mitigate erosion caused by improper drainage blocking.

Separately, Dr. KK Ezekwelu has declared his intention to run for the House of Representatives seat for the Idemili North and Idemili South Federal Constituencies in the 2027 general elections. Running under the All Progressives Congress (APC), Ezekwelu, a legal practitioner, stated his goal is to provide more effective representation in the National Assembly. He emphasized the need for leadership that can attract federal development and defend the interests of the Idemili people in Abuja.
