Anambra State police arrest woman after three children die in home

Police in Anambra State, Nigeria, arrested a female spiritualist locally known as “Ezenwanyi” after four children were found unconscious at her residence in Umuoduba Village, Ideani, Idemili North Local Government Area. Three of the children, aged six to 15, were pronounced dead by doctors, while the fourth remains in critical condition.

The Anambra State Police Command, led by Superintendent Tochukwu Ikenga, said the State Criminal Investigation Department will take over the case to conduct a thorough investigation. Bodies of the deceased were taken to a mortuary for autopsy, and the suspect remains in police custody. Authorities urged the community to remain calm and refrain from spreading unverified information as the investigation continues.
