Anambra State Police arrest woman for alleged child abuse in Onitsha

Anambra State Police have arrested 36-year-old Anulika Onyeanusia in Onitsha following allegations of child sexual abuse and the production of child pornography. During the operation, police rescued four children, aged two, three, six, and nine, and recovered items including sex toys to assist the investigation.

Police spokesperson SP Tochukwu Ikenga stated that the command is investigating the circumstances of the alleged offenses and the potential involvement of others. The suspect’s husband is also undergoing interrogation to determine any connection to the crimes. Anambra State Commissioner of Police Nnanna Ama described the incident as unacceptable and has ordered a professional investigation.

Nonye Soludo, wife of the Anambra Governor, condemned the reports as “deeply disturbing and beyond comprehension.” She called for a transparent investigation to ensure justice and expressed her commitment to coordinating medical, psychological, and social rehabilitation support for the rescued children.
