Anan Khalaili returns to Union SG after failed Inter medical

Israeli wing‑back Anan Khalaili, 21, was poised to join Inter Milan this summer as the intended successor to Denzel Dumfries for a fee of €25‑32 million. A medical examination in Belgium was unsuccessful, prompting Inter to cancel the transfer.

Khalaili resumed full training with his current club Union Saint‑Gilloise and said he feels “completely fit” and ready to play. He highlighted his recent record of 99 matches, six goals and six assists over two seasons, and expressed confidence in his future. Union bought him from Maccabi Haifa for about €6.5 million in 2024 and will face Club Brugge in the Belgian Super Cup on 31 July.

The situation leaves his next move uncertain, but Khalaili remains focused on his career and aims to contribute to Union’s upcoming campaign.
