Ananindeua pension institute investigated for R$ 6.5 million property purchase
The Public Prosecutor's Office of Pará (MPPA) has released a report alleging irregularities in a real estate transaction involving the Ananindeua Municipal Pension Institute (IPMA). According to the investigation, the institute paid R$ 6.5 million in December 2024 for a building that had been purchased for only R$ 200,000 just 19 months earlier during the administration of former mayor Daniel Santos.
An independent technical evaluation conducted in April 2026 estimated the property's value at approximately R$ 2.72 million, suggesting the IPMA paid roughly R$ 3.78 million above market value. The MPPA noted that the funds were transferred entirely to the personal account of Ana Márcia Lima Oliveira, who is the sister-in-law of councilman Alexandre César Santos Gomes.
The suspicious operation was completed within 15 days and involved 18 formal acts and at least 12 individuals. Investigators also highlighted discrepancies in the property's reported area, noting that while the IPMA's report used 840 square meters, municipal records indicate the actual area is 207.55 square meters.
