Anant Singh and Neeraj Kumar clash over JDU Patna Graduate seat

Internal friction has intensified within the Janata Dal (United) (JDU) ahead of the elections for eight Legislative Council seats, including the Patna Graduate constituency. A public dispute has emerged between JDU MLA Anant Singh and MLC Neeraj Kumar.

Anant Singh has openly declared his opposition to Neeraj Kumar, the party’s potential candidate for the Patna Graduate seat, stating he will support independent candidate Dr. Anuj Singh instead. Singh cited past political grievances, alleging that Kumar had opposed him during his own previous elections. The conflict has escalated into personal accusations, with Singh referencing past legal controversies involving AK-47 weapons and challenging Kumar to a face-to-face confrontation at a temple.

In response, Neeraj Kumar has dismissed the allegations, suggesting that Singh should present evidence in court if he has any. Kumar also noted that while Nitish Kumar helped advance Singh's career, Singh is now opposing the party.

JDU leadership, including State President Umesh Kushwaha and Nishant Kumar, have attempted to mediate the dispute through meetings to maintain party unity before the upcoming MLC elections.
