Anantara Kihavah Maldives Villas celebrates International Astronomy Day
Anantara Hotels & Resorts marked International Astronomy Day on 19 September by highlighting the astronomical programs at Anantara Kihavah Maldives Villas. The resort features a state-of-the-art observatory located within a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, benefiting from minimal light pollution.
Resident astronomers Ali Arushal (known as Shalli) and Sajidha (Saji) guide guests through celestial observations, including Saturn’s rings and globular clusters. Due to the Maldives' equatorial location, the observatory provides a unique vantage point for viewing both northern and southern constellations that are often difficult to see from Europe or America.
