Anantara opens first African safari camp in Zambia
Anantara has launched its first African safari property, the Anantara Tented Camp Kafue River, located in Zambia’s largest national park. The 13-key camp is designed to preserve wildlife corridors by utilizing rosewood platforms that elevate the structures above the ground.
Designed by Meg Ralph Spaces, the camp features three Horizon Terrace Suites suspended 14.3 metres above the ground, accessible via a glass elevator, and nine Pool and Bush Villas elevated 3.5 metres. The property emphasizes sustainability, operating off-grid via solar power with on-site water purification and a commitment to minimizing single-use plastics.
Amenities include a floating dining platform for intimate meals, a floating Technogym fitness platform, and a Presidential Villa with exclusive boat access. Rates for the property start at approximately USD 6,289 to 6,300 per room per night, which includes full board, twice-daily game drives, and personalized butler service.
