Anantnag Police detain 13 peddlers in major Waghama drug operation
Anantnag Police conducted a major Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) in Waghama, targeting drug hotspots across 20 locations. The operation resulted in the detention of 13 suspected narco peddlers for questioning and legal action.
In related anti-narcotics efforts, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) Jammu Zonal Unit identified two primary heroin smuggling routes into Jammu and Kashmir. One route involves direct smuggling from Pakistan via the Uri sector, while the other is an indirect route through Punjab.
Recent NCB operations have led to the seizure of 6.920 kg of heroin. This includes an interception of a passenger bus near the New Bus Stand in Samba, where 522 grams of heroin were recovered from a resident of Pulwama. Investigations are ongoing to dismantle the supply chains linked to these seizures.
