Ananym Capital Management enters CTS Eventim as activist investor

Ananym Capital Management, a US-based activist investor, has taken a stake in CTS Eventim, Europe’s largest ticketing and event promoter. Following the announcement, CTS Eventim shares rose by 5.5% to 65.10 euros, reaching a seven-month high.

Ananym co-founder Charlie Penner stated at an investment summit in New York that the company is significantly undervalued, noting that its price-to-earnings ratio is 44% lower than its US rival, Live Nation. Penner suggested there is potential for the stock price to rise by 50 to 100 percent and has called for increased share buybacks to bolster investor confidence.

The investor also highlighted the potential for growth through new contracts and the implementation of agentic AI to optimize ticketing and event operations. This comes at a time of uncertainty for the MDAX-listed company, which has seen its share price drop nearly 50% from its May 2025 peak due to cautious annual forecasts and recent leadership changes in the finance department. CTS Eventim has scheduled its first-ever capital markets day for November 20 to address transparency and business model clarity.
