Anapo demands government certainty to maintain food production

The Association of Oilseed and Wheat Producers (Anapo) in Bolivia is demanding greater certainty from the government to maintain agricultural production and ensure national food security.

Abraham Nogales, president of Anapo, stated that while producers are committed to food supply, they require stable conditions and guaranteed access to fuel. The sector is specifically protesting the impact of Supreme Decree 5676, which they claim hinders productive activities. Producers have set a deadline of this Sunday for the government to repeal the decree.

If the government does not comply, Anapo intends to request the Comité Pro Santa Cruz to convene an 'Asamblea de la Cruceñidad' to determine further actions. The controversy is heavily linked to the pricing and availability of diesel, which is essential for tasks ranging from land preparation to harvesting and transport.
