Anas hosts PIARC international meeting on winter road maintenance

The Anas Smart Road Center in Rome hosted the international technical committee meeting for PIARC (World Road Association) 'Winter Service' on September 22 and 23, 2026. The gathering brought together over 40 international delegates to monitor the progress of the committee's work ahead of the conclusion of the 2024-2027 Strategic Plan and the upcoming World Congress in Vancouver in October 2027.

Claudio Andrea Gemme, CEO of Anas and President of PIARC Italy, emphasized that winter road maintenance is a complex challenge requiring a predictive and digitalized approach. The meeting focused on international cooperation to share innovative solutions and best practices, aiming to develop road networks that are safer, smarter, and more resilient to the impacts of climate change.
