Anas launches 4.5 billion euro infrastructure projects in Sicily

Anas has launched a series of infrastructure projects in Sicily totaling 4.5 billion euros. An additional 1 billion euros is allocated for 52 upcoming construction sites aimed at improving the island's road and highway networks.

Of the 146 ongoing interventions, 131 are focused on scheduled maintenance, while 15 involve the creation of new works. A major highlight is the Ragusa-Catania project, which accounts for approximately 1.5 billion euros in investment. Additionally, 38 active works on the motorway network are valued at nearly 583 million euros.

Despite these large-scale investments, the Segesta Tunnel on the A29 Alcamo-Trapani branch remains a point of contention. The 22.68 million euro project is reported to be 93.6% complete but has faced long delays in reaching full completion.
