Anastasiadou and Gaidatzis chosen as Greek flag bearers

Evangelia Anastasiadou and Petros Gaidatzis have been selected as the flag bearers for the Greek delegation at the closing ceremony of the Mediterranean Games in Taranto, held on September 3, 2026.

The decision, made by Antonis Nikolopoulos, head of Team Hellas, recognizes the athletes' exceptional performance and consistency throughout the year. Both sailors achieved significant success at the Taranto games, each winning two gold medals. Gaidatzis secured gold in the lightweights single skiff and the mixed double lightweights skiff, following a year where he was named World and European Champion. Anastasiadou also won two gold medals in the single skiff and mixed double skiff, adding to her second-place finish at the 2026 European Games.
