ANATO hosts National Receptive Tourism Meeting in Villa de Leyva

The seventh National Receptive Tourism Meeting, organized by ANATO and the Government of Boyacá, concluded in Villa de Leyva. The event brought together approximately 350 to 380 travel agencies, business leaders, and tourism authorities to strengthen the sector.

Key objectives included diversifying the exportable tourism offer, integrating non-traditional destinations into the value chain, and transitioning from high-volume tourism to high-value tourism. The meeting featured a commercial matchmaking round involving 226 companies and 298 business delegates to foster partnerships for the 2026-2027 seasons.

Economic data highlighted during the event noted that tourism spending in Colombia reached 54.7 trillion pesos in 2025, an 8.4% increase. Additionally, foreign exchange from tourism reached USD 5.619 billion in the first half of 2026, establishing tourism as Colombia’s primary service export and second-largest foreign exchange generator after petroleum.
