Aníbal Lotocki faces consolidated trial for homicide and medical malpractice
Surgeon Aníbal Lotocki faces an expanding legal battle in Argentina as multiple cases are consolidated into a single trial. The proceedings include charges for the 2021 death of Rodolfo Zárate, which is being treated as a homicide with eventual intent following multiple aesthetic surgeries performed in a single session.
In addition to the homicide case, the trial now formally incorporates accusations of causing permanent and potentially incurable injuries to five other women during procedures conducted between 2009 and 2021. Furthermore, a medical board report has linked Lotocki to the investigation surrounding the 2023 death of model Silvina Luna.
During recent testimonies, paramedics described the critical moments following Zárate’s surgery. Witness Andrés Luis Romero stated that the initial emergency unit was unable to transport the patient because he was intubated and the vehicle lacked the required specialized equipment. Witnesses also alleged that clinic staff prevented the paramedics from leaving until police and emergency services (SAME) were summoned.
