Aníbal Lotocki faces legal scrutiny over patient deaths

Surgeon Aníbal Lotocki is facing legal scrutiny in two separate investigations involving patient deaths. In the trial regarding the death of Christian Zárate, prosecutors presented audio transcripts in which Lotocki allegedly discussed the patient's status. One recording reportedly captured the surgeon noting that Zárate had experienced bleeding and requested water during recovery, while another pre-operative recording allegedly featured the surgeon referring to Zárate and another patient as “the ones who pay the most.”

In a separate investigation concerning the death of Silvina Luna following aesthetic procedures, the Forensic Medical Corps (Cuerpo Médico Forense) issued a report linking the use of polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) to granuloma formation, hypercalcemia, and renal deterioration. While the report does not assign individual criminal responsibility, it notes a lack of medical records in the case file regarding the post-operative follow-up care provided by Lotocki to Luna.
