Aníbal Lotocki ordered into preventive detention

The Oral Criminal and Correctional Court No. 28 has ordered the preventive detention of Aníbal Lotocki. The ruling follows a case involving serious injuries inflicted upon Silvina Luna, Pamela Sosa, Estefanía Xipolitakis, and Gabriela Trenchi.

Lotocki was initially sentenced in February 2022 to four years in prison and a five-year medical disqualification. However, the National Court of Cassation later confirmed his responsibility, added a conviction for fraud against Gabriela Trenchi, and increased the sentence to eight years of imprisonment and a ten-year medical disqualification.

The court determined that the legal situation has changed since the last detention request in 2023. Because the conviction was confirmed by the Court of Cassation and only a pending complaint before the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation remains, judges ruled that the risk of flight has increased as the possibility of effective imprisonment becomes more concrete.
