Anbar security forces seize 47 drones and 46 projectiles

Iraqi security forces have seized 47 drones and 46 projectiles in the Anbar Governorate. According to the Iraqi Ministry of Interior, police units acted on intelligence to raid an abandoned site in the 'Area 35' district.

The location, which previously operated as a vehicle tire repair shop, contained the drones, projectiles, remote control devices, batteries, and various technical equipment used for operating unmanned aerial vehicles. Authorities have secured the site and confiscated all items while launching technical investigations to determine the source of the equipment and the parties responsible.

This operation aligns with the Iraqi government's priority to consolidate arms control under state authority. This effort follows recent moves by the Iraqi Army to form specialized committees for weapon inventory and political support from the Coordination Framework to strengthen official state institutions. The presence of weapons outside state control remains a significant security and political challenge in Iraq, involving various armed factions.
