Anbernic announces RG DDS dual-screen handheld console
Anbernic has announced the RG DDS, a new dual-screen clamshell handheld console designed as a tribute to the Nintendo 3DS. While the device lacks 3D capabilities, it features significant hardware upgrades, including a Qualcomm Snapdragon G2 Gen 2 chipset and an integrated active cooling fan to maintain performance.
The console utilizes two high-resolution screens that support 3x integer scaling for enhanced clarity. The top display is a 4.7-inch panel with a 1200x700 resolution, while the bottom screen is 4 inches with a 960x720 resolution. Both screens offer a brightness of 500 nits and a pixel density of approximately 300 PPI.
Additional features include a 6000 mAh battery, dual speakers, a vibration motor, and a stylus. The device also includes a dedicated AI button and a software interface inspired by Apple’s Liquid Glass design. The RG DDS will be available in blue, white, and black.
