Anbernic announces RG DDS dual-screen handheld emulator
Anbernic has announced the pricing and pre-order details for its new RG DDS handheld console, a device featuring a dual-screen design similar to the Nintendo 3DS. The device is positioned as a high-performance emulator capable of running demanding titles, including some from the Xbox 360 and PS3 eras.
Technical specifications include a Qualcomm Snapdragon G2 Gen 2 processor (4nm), 8GB or 12GB of RAM, and 128GB or 256GB of storage. The hardware features a 4.7-inch top IPS touchscreen and a 4-inch bottom IPS touchscreen, both with 500 nits of brightness. The system runs on Android 16 and includes WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.4, and a 6000 mAh battery with 27W charging.
Pricing for the RG DDS is notably higher than Anbernic’s typical budget-friendly offerings. The 8GB/128GB model is priced at approximately $299.99, while the 12GB/256GB variant is set at $349.99. Pre-orders are scheduled to begin on October 16, with the first batch of shipments expected to start around December 10.
