Anbernic unveils RG DDS dual-screen handheld console

Anbernic has unveiled the RG DDS (Dream Dual-Screen), a clamshell handheld gaming console inspired by the design of the Nintendo 3DS. The device features two custom IPS displays: a 4.7-inch top screen with a 1200 x 720 resolution (5:3 aspect ratio) and a 4-inch bottom touchscreen with a 960 x 720 resolution (4:3 aspect ratio). Both screens offer 300 PPI and 500 nits of brightness, allowing for 3x integer scaling of original 3DS games to provide sharper visuals.

Under the hood, the RG DDS is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon G2 Gen 2 octa-core processor and an Adreno A22 GPU. The hardware is supported by an integrated cooling fan and a 6000mAh battery. For controls, the device includes a D-pad, face buttons, two analog sticks, and a Z-axis linear motor for haptic feedback. The console will be available in black, blue, and white, and includes a retractable stylus.
