Romanian cultural figures Adriana Piteșteanu and Anca Pandrea pass away

The Romanian cultural community is marking the passing of several notable figures. Adriana Piteșteanu, a prominent actress, director, and educator, died on September 2 at the age of 90. The Romanian Theater Union (UNITER) honored her legacy, describing her as a “fine observer of human behavior” and an “expert discoverer of emotions.”

Actress Anca Pandrea was also laid to rest on September 3 at the Sfânta Vineri Cemetery in Bucharest. She passed away at age 80 following health struggles involving pulmonary and cardiac issues. Per her final wishes, she was buried alongside her longtime partner, actor Iurie Darie.
