Ancestry.com expands global genealogy database with new collections

Ancestry.com added a large set of new genealogy record collections during July 2026, covering locations such as Broken Hill in New South Wales (Australia), Bangor, Maine (US), Lwów (Poland), and several counties in Wales, England and Scotland. New datasets include cemetery and burial registers, historic images, mining ledgers, World War I albums, Chinese immigration business case files, municipal directories, electoral registers and many other civil‑record series.

The company also refreshed numerous existing collections, updating the England and Wales Register, obituary indexes for Scotland and Northern Ireland, and expanding Newspapers.com indexes for U.S. states and districts—including the District of Columbia, Kansas, Georgia, Washington, Oregon and Vermont—adding hundreds of millions of indexed records without images.
