Ancient Roman sites in Italy open for public tours

A night-time guided walk in Rome will take visitors through little‑known viewpoints of the ancient city, including the Campidoglio, the Roman Forum and the Velabro. The tour, scheduled for 21:00 on 25 July 2026, starts at the Vittoriano and ends at San Giorgio al Velabro, offering a secluded view of the Arch of Septimius Severus.

The Roman villa of Fiumana near Predappio opened to the public for a presentation of its latest archaeological findings. The event, held at 18:30, featured Professor Riccardo Villicich, director of the excavations, who described a newly uncovered fifth‑century pavilion linked to the Ravenna court and other structural changes to the site. Officials from the municipality and the Soprintendenza of Ravenna also addressed the audience.
