Ancol celebrates Indonesia's 81st Independence Day with free entry and festivities

PT Pembangunan Jaya Ancol Tbk is hosting various celebrations to commemorate the 81st Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia on Monday, August 17, 2026. As part of the “Merdekaria: The People’s Celebration” event, the management is offering free entry to the Ancol Taman Impian area for visitors who complete a reservation via the official website by Sunday, August 16.

Activities at Ancol include an underwater flag-raising ceremony at the Sharkuarium in Sea World Ancol, a theatrical performance titled “Amanat dari dasar laut,” and a colossal Panjat Pinang competition involving 100 teams. Other festivities include the Merdekaria Funlympics, featuring traditional games such as jumbo cracker eating contests and sack races, as well as the Merdekaria music festival at Pantai Lagoon.
